Dana Henry serves as a Program Director at CIS of Los Angeles.
Born, raised and educated in Southern California, Dana holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), also attended University Studies Abroad Consortium – Costa Rica.
Dana identified her passion for youth while attending college and working summers as Site Coordinator, City of Pomona Parks and Recreation Program where she developed communication, organization and youth centered strategies.
Dana, began her career as Program Coordinator, later promoted to Site Director for (UCLA) – Community Based Learning Program 2000 thru 2012. She assisted with the transition from youth to adulthood by providing programs that encourage youth to move from secondary to post-secondary education, meaningful careers and productive adult lives. Dana coordinated school academic enrichment, recreational activities, directed and managed a caseload of 80 students ages 14-21 at work source sites. She represented the agency on the West Los Angeles Work Readiness Consortia Board and as anactive member of the City of Los Angeles’s Workforce Investment Board Youth Engagement Taskforce.
From 2009 thru 2012, Ms. Henry was both Site Coordinator and Graduation Coach at CISLA, where she managed a caseload of students with academic and behavioral challenges. She developed and coordinated intervention strategies in collaboration with high school staff to ensure career planning, student empowerment and graduation.
Dana is an active member of many organizations, to name a few; Usher’s New Look Foundation and Karen Bass – The People’s Council. She is a licensed State of California Realtor and enjoys assisting others acquire home ownership.
