Damian Mazzotta

Audit Co-Chair
Community Partner

Damián Mazzotta, born in Argentina to a working-class immigrant family, was the first in his family to attend university. With support from scholarships and hard work, he studied at top institutions in Latin America and earned an international MBA from the Economics University of Vienna. He also holds postgraduate degrees in Negotiation and Change Management and completed executive training in Leading Organizational Renewal at Stanford and High-Performance Virtual Projects at Cornell.

Damián moved to the U.S. a decade ago to expand his professional knowledge, starting as Vice President of Business Development at Impremedia in New York City. He later led the West Coast Business Unit in Los Angeles, transforming La Opinion by creating numerous initiatives emphasizing community dialogues. He was recognized as one of the Top 500 Most Influential People in Los Angeles by LA Business Journal in 2016 and 2017.

Damián currently serves as a Board Chair for Communities In Schools of Los Angeles and is also the Chairperson of LA's BEST Governing Board. Additionally, he has also been a member of the advisory boards for the UCLA Center for World Health and UCLA Health International Services. Damián co-founded End Homelessness California and The Shower of Hope Program after volunteering in Skid Row. He has joined the Inland Empire Health Plan to enhance fresh produce distribution. This year, Damián launched Argentina's first National School Entrepreneurship Marathon for kids and youth through partnerships and ties to the publishing and education sector.

Although in the last decade, Damián worked hand in hand with social sector leaders to generate and expand social impact, he continues to focus his professional support through financial and administration excellence because he thinks that at the crossroads of programmatic and financial outcomes lies the opportunities to bring ongoing and sustainable value to improve people's lives. Throughout his career, he is humbled to have the opportunity to impact millions of people’s lives.
