Elizabeth Aguilar

Volunteer and Corporate Engagement Manager

Elizabeth Aguilar (Volunteer and Corporate Engagement Manager) joined CISLA in January 2022, bringing over 8 years of experience in managing and energizing volunteers in nonprofit settings. Ms. Aguilar oversees the Volunteer and Corporate Engagement division and works collaboratively with school site staff, volunteers, and corporate partners to develop engaging opportunities to support the needs of students served by CISLA.  

Prior to joining CISLA, she led the Volunteer program at the Museum of Latin American Art from 2018-2021. At MOLAA, Ms. Aguilar managed the docent guild program, Internship department, general volunteer activities, and teen programs. Working with community partners, and local schools and universities, Ms. Aguilar provided meaningful learning opportunities for BIPOCs by establishing a mentorship program targeted for high school and college interns interested in careers in the museum field. She has also served as the Volunteer Coordinator and Special Events Assistant at Richstone Family Center from 2015-2018, where she focused on creating impactful opportunities for children and families with the support of volunteers, and corporate and local partnerships. In addition, Ms. Aguilar spearheaded the annual holiday programs aimed at serving the needs of families undergoing financial and food insecurity.  

Ms. Aguilar holds a BS in Public Administration and MPA in Nonprofit Management from California State University, Dominguez Hills. She has a passion for public service and has spent much of her career working with nonprofits and grassroots organizations in underrepresented communities to help meet their mission and provide services throughout diverse communities. In addition to Public Service, she is an advocate for social justice, equity equality, and uplifting the voices of those unheard. Elizabeth enjoys reading, hiking, dancing, and yoga in her spare time. She currently lives in Long Beach with her two cats.
