Nathon Camacho-Morfin (Administrative Program Assistant) joined CISLA in 2023. As Administrative Program Assistant, Nathon is instrumental in facilitating the efficient and effective operation of CISLA, thereby aiding the organization in fulfilling its core mission of enhancing children's academic and life success through the provision of essential administrative structure and support.

Nathon brings to the organization a solid foundation in administrative tasks and research management. They wholeheartedly embrace CISLA's mission of nurturing academic and life success through supportive communities and are enthusiastic about contributing their diverse skill set to our dynamic team, thereby becoming an integral part of achieving CISLA's vision.

Nathon's background in various administrative capacities uniquely positions them to make meaningful contributions to CISLA's endeavors and goals. Prior to joining our team, Nathon held the position of Administrative Assistant/Jr. Research Specialist at the University of California, Irvine's Department of Chicano/Latino Studies. In this role, they excelled in effectively managing appointments, interviews, and team meetings, enhancing interdepartmental communication and the daily operational efficiency of the organization. Furthermore, Nathon played a significant role in the development of study protocols and Institutional Review Board (IRB) documents. They also demonstrated exceptional problem-solving abilities while supervising and training a team of undergraduate research assistants in data collection and analysis. Additionally, Nathon contributed to the community by providing academic support to Black and Latino youth and by coordinating community outreach events during their undergraduate career as a volunteer at El Sol Science and Arts Academy of Santa Ana.

Nathon is an alum of the University of California, Irvine, having earned a dual degree in Psychology & Social Behavior and Criminology, Law & Society with a minor in Gender & Sexuality Studies. Beyond their professional pursuits, Nathon finds enjoyment in hiking, traveling, the arts, and spending quality time with friends, family, and their beloved pets.
