What aspects of CISLA's mission resonate most with your personal values?
The commitment to building trust through strong relationships aligns deeply with my values. CISLA's approach of guiding students through both academic and personal challenges by first establishing trust reflects the power of genuine human connection.
What is the most compelling reason you believe in the importance of our organization?
CISLA's focus on lowering the dropout rate and increasing the graduation rate in one of the largest and most diverse school districts in the U.S. is vital. This mission not only helps students achieve their educational goals but also strengthens the entire community.
How do you see CISLA making a positive difference in the lives of students and families in the Los Angeles community?
By showing students that someone truly cares, CISLA provides a critical support system that can change the trajectory of their lives, fostering hope and resilience.
What sets CISLA apart from others working in this field, and why is that important?
CISLA's unique emphasis on building meaningful relationships is its defining strength. This personalized approach goes beyond academics, addressing the broader needs of students and making a lasting impact.
Have you attended an event or met a student who has significantly impacted you and motivated you to continue supporting CISLA's mission?
Hearing the stories of our students at the annual gala is always moving. Learning about their journeys and the obstacles they’ve overcome is a powerful reminder of why CISLA’s work is so crucial.
